TheBigDay on Toast

A company called Your Name On Toast started recently--it's a publicity stunt, but with an honorable goal: raising money for charity. So of course, we're in! Thanks to marketing guru Seth Godin for spreading the word via his blog.

Global Volunteer Network partners with TheBigDay

We're now offering up our registry service to volunteers worldwide via the Global Volunteer Network Foundation.

Volunteers can now create a travel registry for to help them fly off to countries like New Zealand, Ghana, Kenya, Ecuador, Rwanda, South Africa, Thailand...etc. The registry will allow their friends and family to help them with the costs of getting to the country where they'll do their volunteer work.

Since 2002 the Global Volunteer Network has sent over 5,000 volunteers to developing countries to volunteer in the sectors of education, community development, and environment. Travel expense is a barrier for many of the GVN volunteers, whose average age is 23.

"Volunteering is a great way to contribute to the global community and gain experience and personal growth. TheBigDay provides volunteers with a platform to raise the required funding to go," says Colin Salisbury, CEO Global Volunteer Network.

In addition, wedding couples at TheBigDay can add the following donation items to their wedding registries:The three programs above are managed by the Global Volunteer Network.

Our hearts are warmed by the fact that more and more of our customers are choosing to offer charitable options for wedding gifts on their registries...THANK YOU ALL for giving back to your world!

See resort locations using Microsoft Virtual Earth

We've had Google Earth links for resort on our website for some time now--and this week, we've added the ability to locate resorts using Microsoft Virtual Earth as well.

This is especially nice for people who don't have Google Earth installed, as there's no download required to use Microsoft Virtual Earth. Want to see how it works? Here's an example for Outrigger's Te Tiare Beach Resort on Huahine, in French Polynesia.
