The Brides Ball

I recently came across a wonderful opportunity to use your wedding dress again, if you haven't already donated it to Brides Against Breast Cancer.

The Brides Ball is only happening in Ontario, Canada, but it is also benefits breast cancer charities, more specifically the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. It seems like a great way to get another use out of your wedding dress or other wedding apparel (bridesmaid's dress, etc) and raise money at the same time.

TheBigDay Mention on Good Morning America

It's definitely wedding planning time! This morning, the executive editor of Real Simple Magazine talked about honeymoon registries on Good Morning America and highlighted TheBigDay's experience-based registry. Although we can't link to the video directly, you can go to the GMA website and look at the video link associated with Bridal Savings. Thanks to Real Simple and GMA!

Mention of TheBigDay on CBS' Early Morning Show

We were mentioned on the Early Morning Show on CBS today by the senior editor of Travel + Leisure magazine, Ms. Nilou Motamed. We are are the only website she mentioned for Hot Honeymoons!

There is also video, which I highly recommend watching, both for her recommendations on honeymoons and also her suggestions on other places to visit, depending on your style of vacation. Ms. Motamed also mentions another website we love, Sustainable Travel International, which is a Boulder-based company with Oregon ties.

First Comes Love, Then Comes Marriage, Then Comes the Baby Carriage!

For many people, love, marriage, baby is a natural progression. Good examples of this represented online would be something like Match, TheKnot and its follow up, TheNest. Although we usually write about websites and trends in the second categories - weddings - this after-the-wedding website was too ingenious to resist.

Nymbler calls itself Your Personal Baby Name Assistant and, based on names you like, suggests other names you might find interesting. It's like Pandora...for people. It also includes the popularity ranking of the name so you can avoid your child sharing a name with 10 of his classmates or tormenting your daughter with the I-thought-it-was-popular Gertrude.

Check it out at Nymbler.com
